JetTricks - Paul Elliott and Jamie Lawrence, a production duo from south London typically enter their instrument filled studio with the aim of having fun whilst creating diversely styled music without any preconceived plan. 'Remote Control' is evidence of this process, combining JetTricks infectious grooves with laid back melodies and the heartfelt spoken word of AdeFunke Ogundare-Alli who writes poetry based on her own experiences of life and love.

The idea for the album was hatched when AdeFunke read Jamie one of her poems. He was so moved by her words he decided to set them to music. The result being ‘Love Hangover (Acoustic)’. Paul liked the track so much he decided to remix it as a ‘B’ side - ‘Love Hangover (Version)”. The pair were so pleased with the tracks they decided to get AdeFunke back in the studio to record and produce an entire album – ‘Remote Control’.

JetTricks carefully and methodically fused their individual musical tastes and styles to ensure the soundscape suited the atmosphere created by AdeFunke. They then enlisted the help of their talented friends – Vocalist Faye Houston (who co-wrote ‘Lose You’ and ‘Pieces’), Detroit’s Marcus Malone (Amazing adlibbed outro on ‘Free’) and Britain’s premier harmonica player Giles King (‘Breathe Now Blues).

Tracks from ‘Remote Control’ have provoked nothing but the most positive of comments from a host of DJs and music lover’s alike, vindicating JetTricks own belief in their music and way of producing it. Norman Jay picked “Free” for his upcoming “Good Times” compilation, Gilles Peterson honored JetTricks with prestigious BBC Radio 1 airplay and the album is already high on the priiority list of international compilers.
