OLAF HUND Valseuses

Three years after the release of his first album Kitch Kitch (Musiques Hybrides / Virgin), Olaf Hund is back with « Valseuses », an opus that is more introspective and intimate than the last album that wonderfully illustrate the festive and light facette of his music. These last 3 years gave Olaf the opportunity to work on the productions of his mates Alexis HK, Norazia and Hack Tao, the collaboration with many artists between Paris and Berlin as well as the developpement of various trans-disciplinary projects while maturing this album. Acoustic instruments and machines meet and invite, at times, a voice, to generate an electro mix of entrancing melodies and surprising rhythms.« Valseuses » revisits the popular and romantic dances from the beginning of the 20th century to our days, highlighting the talent of Olaf as a composer: Gymnopédie, Menuet, Valse, Boléro? celebrates a new dimension in electronics, so modern. Dancing, is the lovers langage and this album is inspired by love and all the feelings it can inspire: joy, spleen, sadness, anger, hope? these emotions are blended, transporting us all along these eleven tracks. So turn on the sound, close your eyes, relax... let your imagination guide you. This music is yours, that of your inner film, your inner self: these feelings that transcendes you from Olaf is in each and everyone of us.Olaf Hund created the label Musiques Hybrides in 1994. He began his project of musical series, leavingbehind him all cliches of styles and categories. It would be wise to evoke moods, atmosphere, emotions and colors, in order to understand how he divides his tracks into these series. His revelation to the public comes with his performance at the Aquaplanning Festival in 1999.:" the big moment of Aquaplanning 1999 for the general opinion was the Olaf Hund concert" (Libération). In 2001, he gathered the Kitch Kitch series into his first album (Kitch Kitch: Musiques Hybrides / Virgin). "Olaf Hund's latest effort has got everything: hints of Blondie, strutting hip-hop, splashes of Kraftwerk, Quickstep, Cajun hoedowns, space-age Moogisms and manic tubular bells" (NME). Olaf composed the soundtrack of Cyrk 13, a show by Philippe Découflé that toured Europe for 2 years. He multiplied his collaborations and remixes with Léonard de Léonard, Louise Vertigo, Rubin Steiner, Scratch Massive, DJ Seep, Omar from Oslo, Plaid, Schneider TM, Gonzales, Tarwater, Taraf de Haidouk. In 2003, he founded FreeComplex, a pluri-disciplinary collective of various artistes. Eversince he toured Brazil, he added corporal performances to his concerts through his collaboration with Solaine Caillat - a circus performance artiste. Together, with the release of "Valseuses", Olaf and Solaine are putting the finishing touches to a new "live" show (first date in Paris, in the automn of 2004)
